A few years back, at the behest of the Obama people in the Holder Justice Department, Bank of America was reported to have canceled the accounts of a number of Americans and businesses that were part of industries targeted by Project Choke Point. The idea then for the Obama sorts was to force industries of a nature they did not like out of business by depriving them of the money streams necessary to survive.
It has been a while since Bank of America has been in the news for any sort of cooperation with the government of a questionable or illegal bent, but back they are thanks to a Tucker Carlson segment on Fox News Thursday evening. It seems that they are helping out the FBI by providing transaction details of their customers in proximity to the Capitol Building on January 6 whether the people were involved in the invasion of that space or not.
Carlson began by talking about the Biden administration’s “war on terror,” a war against “violent extremism and the people who embrace it,” and while the media is on board with hunting these people down, the Fox News host noted a telling omission at play — nobody is defining who these dangerous, violent domestic terrorists are.
“Have you noticed? None of these newly energized and highly empowered extremist hunters have told us exactly what an extremist is,” Carlson said. “So we are left to guess. We are left to look around nervously to see if we can spot one. Hoping against hope the whole time they are not talking about us. Are they?”
And if they are, what exactly are they doing? How are they hunting these extremists they keep telling us about but will not describe?” he continued. “We now know part of the answer to that question. This show has obtained exclusive evidence that Bank of America, the second-largest bank in the country with more than 60 million customers, is actively but secretly engaged in the hunt for extremists in cooperation with the government.”
Carlson charged that Bank of America “is, without the knowledge or the consent of its customers sharing private information with federal law enforcement agencies.”
“Bank of America effectively is acting as an intelligence agency. But they are not telling you about it,” he explained.
Carlson went on to tell of 211 accounts where activity was shared with federal investigators leading them to question one person who was immediately cleared of any wrongdoing.
How is this acceptable in a country where freedom FROM the government and cooperation between government and private enterprise is to be at arm’s length?
How did the American people become the enemy, and the hunted even if no crimes have been committed?
These are troubling questions for this time, that is for sure.
