Biden Stops New Oil And Gas Drilling Over Climate Change Lawsuit

One of President Donald Trump’s great achievements was turning the United States from a net importer of energy to a net exporter. One of the weapons he used to make this happen was changing the rental rate for drilling on federal land from fifty-one dollars per ton of carbon dioxide produced to seven, a move that was reversed by the Biden people.

That price makes drilling amazingly expensive in the USA all in an effort to keep the amount of carbon dioxide – a gas needed to grow all the sustainable plant life that the left wants us to consume – limited in order to keep the “rising oceans” at bay that don’t seem to be threatening any housing on the coasts, and wildfires fueled by a lack of decent land management under control.

This is the price of maintaining the climate change hoax.

Ten oil and gas producing states cried foul on the astronomical raising of the fees and sued the Biden Administration. A federal judge, appointed by President Trump, sided with the states, and now the Biden camp is just not issuing new leases.

But 10 Republican-led states sued the government, and on Feb. 11, Judge James D. Cain Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana found that the Biden administration’s calculations “artificially increase the cost estimates” of oil and gas drilling.

Judge Cain, a Trump appointee, said using the social cost of carbon in decision-making would harm his native Louisiana and other energy-producing states. He issued an injunction preventing the administration from considering the metric. The Justice Department said it intends to appeal.

In an ironic twist, the fallout from the judge’s ruling — at least initially — is that the federal government has stopped work on new oil and gas leases, as well as permits to drill on federal lands and waters.

The Biden people don’t get their way, so they just stop handing out leases.

The maturity of the Biden camp is on full display.
