There is an active shooter situation on the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California.
The shooter is said to be in custody but at approximately 0630 the following text message was sent to the troops on the base:
“SECURITY ALERT: ENTRANCE TO BASE AND HOSPITAL RESTRICTED DUE TO SECURITY ALERT. PLEASE SHELTER IN PLACE UNTIL NOTIFIED.”
Not long after the alert was sent via text message the troops received this text message:
“Code White. There is an Active Shooter in the A M.C.C. Remain calm. Silence your cell phone. Run, hide, fight. Help is on the way.”
There have been no official reports on any injuries or casualties as a result of the active shooter but a local reporter, Angela Chen with KSEQ sent the following Tweet just before 0800 local time:
BREAKING: a shooting suspect is now in custody at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base. A base spokesperson confirmed active shooter situation started around 6:30 this morning. Officials are speaking with the suspect now. No word on injuries or victims at this point.

Twenty Nine Palms is the largest marine Corps base in the United States and is home to Communications and Electronics schools as well as Tanks. As is common in today’s world the base also sent out a Tweet confirming they were aware of the situation…

Whoever this clown is he will be lucky if the military police get him before one of the Grunt platoons use him to grease the tracks on a tank.
