President Trump has signed an Executive Order authorizing Federal Law Enforcement to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such federal property in the United States with up to 10 years in prison in accordance with the Veterans Memorial Preservation Act, or such other laws that may be pertinent. He has ordered this action begin immediately and has authorized prosecutors to use the law retroactively to prosecute those who are already responsible for destroying monument in violation of the law.
The liberals will no doubt lose their minds over this Executive Order but really the President is not doing anything with this order except demanding that the laws he has taken an oath to faithfully execute are in fact executed… I know that’s a foreign concept to some in Congress who create laws for window dressing but never enforce them but this is one law i will be happy to see enforced.
The specific statute the President is ordering enforced is 18 U.S.C ยง 1361 states that those who intentionally destroy government property and incur more than $100 in damages are subject to up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. That’s a law passed by Congress, not the President… He’s just ordering that it’s enforced…
Now we can only hope that those caught on video last night trying to destroy the Andrew Jackson Memorial in Lafayette Park will be arrested and prosecuted for the damage they did… Many were arrested last night and this order should keep them shaking awhile…
There is no doubt a small portion of the public on Twitter, most of which a probably foreign agents, are enjoying and encouraging all this destruction, but I do not believe the majority of Americans like what they see taking place in the country right now…
