It’s almost as if the people from the cancel culture loons on the left are looking for racism and controversy anywhere goodness and light-heartedness exist. The wackadoodles’ – who have taken it upon themselves to be the race and “stop over-policing” police – campaign for the removal of the movie “Kindergarten Cop” from a film festival in Oregon is successful.
‘Yes, KINDERGARTEN COP is only a movie. So are BIRTH OF A NATION and GONE WITH THE WIND, but we recognize films like those are not “good family fun,”‘ Leveen said in a tweet.
‘They are relics of how pop culture feeds racist assumptions,’ the author added.
‘There’s nothing entertaining about the presence of police in schools, which feeds the “school-to-prison” pipeline in which African American, Latinx, and other kids of color are criminalized rather than educated,’ Leveen said in another tweet.
“Kindergarten Cop” is about a cop who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher to catch a drug dealer. Gone With the Wind is a soap opera set in the American south around the Civil War. “Birth of a Nation” is a 1915 black and white movie featuring the Ku Klux Klan. How one can relate the three can only happen in the mind of a liberal.
‘Nutty. Angry leftists hate Hollywood. Anyone who disagrees will be censored,’ tweeted Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, in response to the controversy.
‘Hollywood, afraid of the mob, will keep funding those trying to erase any speech/movies that don’t conform,’ Cruz wrote.
In this case, it is the positive presentation of a cop finding out that there are other jobs out there in a rather charming way. The entire reason that movie was selected for the film festival was that it was shot in Astoria, Oregon, and is part of the legacy of movie-making in the northwest. There is nothing political or controversial about that.
Liberals will find controversy where ever they seem to want to find it.
