Now that questions have been raised in any number of states where many residents know no one personally who has had the novel SARS-Corona virus dubbed COVID-19, the truth is starting to surface.
The Center for Disease Control now admits to combining two very different sorts of tests to report the number of cases, not the survival rate, just the number of cases, of the virus. The first sort of test, a viral test, that determines whether or not a person is CURRENTLY infected with the virus are the ones that are most readily available and use a swab to take a sample for analysis.
The second sort of test is an antibody test that checks to see if there are antibodies for the virus in the blood. Anti-bodies would either indicate the person had the virus already or was exposed and the body’s immune system took care of the little bug.
To report numbers, the CDC was putting the two together, a practice medical professionals know is not kosher.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, told The Atlantic. “How could the CDC make that mistake? This is a mess.”
“The viral testing is to understand how many people are getting infected, while antibody testing is like looking in the rearview mirror. The two tests are totally different signals,” Jha told The Atlantic.
And that, when it comes to reporting the numbers is a problem. The numbers we’re seeing from the CDC, and as it turns out, a number of states, are not accurate and are turning out to be inflated.

So, what does the CDC have to say? The official word:
“Now that serology testing is more widely available, CDC is working to differentiate those tests from the viral tests and will report this information, differentiated by test type, publicly on our COVID Data Tracker website in the coming weeks,” [CDC spokesperson Kristen Nordlund] said.
Great, but seriously, how inflated are the numbers? Are We the People going through lockdowns, mask-wearing, and no entertainment or school for nothing, or not?
