When the head of CNN, Jeff Zucker, resigned this week, shock waves were sent across American media. Here was the head of scandal-ridden CNN who so far had survived his staff’s bad behavior suddenly taking himself out admitting an affair with an underling.
Sex scandals are always so convenient.
Zucker’s seat hadn’t even cooled from his leaving it before rumors started that this was just the beginning. Far more was going on.
Now a report published by the New York Post claims that their sources inside CNN confirm that there is much more to the story, and it involves the lawsuit and potential settlement to former anchor Chris Cuomo.
Chris Cuomo isn’t likely to get much more than half of the $18 million he’s seeking as a settlement in his feud with CNN now that Jeff Zucker has resigned, The Post has learned.
Zucker fell on his sword in an effort to keep a possible Cuomo lawsuit against CNN from seeing the light of day, sources told The Post. The ex-CNN chief was named multiple times in a draft of a suit, which hasn’t been filed, sources said.
Zucker’s resignation came as part of an agreement hammered out with AT&T chief John Stankey, sources say. Under the agreement, Zucker would leave CNN without a fight and Stankey would settle with Cuomo, the sources said.
That way, Cuomo’s potentially damaging additional accusations about Zucker would be kept from the public, these sources say.
There’s more to all of this than a sex scandal. Imagine that.
“Jeff cut a deal to say ‘I’ll leave, and you settle with Cuomo,’” a source told The Post. “He thought AT&T would fight a lawsuit and it would go public otherwise.” If Cuomo filed his lawsuit and AT&T fought it, then potentially damaging information about Zucker could come out, too, the sources said.
Information that could be more damaging than an affair with a staffer. The possibilities are endless.

Chris Cuomo (and family) happens to be a confirmed verified racist who had ridiculed a black politician and referred to him as a “water carrier”. Cuomo also mocked black actors and music by referring to himself as being “black on the inside”. Perhaps this what the race-terrorist Joe Biden meant when he croaked like a sick toad to the black population, “you ain’t black”.
Thing is CNN is spending Discovery Channel money now and with Zucker gone Cuomo doesn’t have much leverage. Discovery may say this didn’t happen under our watch and may decied to let it all play out and use it to rid itself of future issues and liabilities by firing all envolved.
If Cuomo does this to CNN wouldn’t that be a form of extortion or blackmail? I am not on Cuomo’s side nor his brothers either rather just wondering.
