Right about the time this Coronavirus started making people panic in April, the Democrats in positions of leadership were confining people to their homes and the Democrat Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, like many other Democrats in leadership positions, were discovering they could become dictators and people would follow their every order like sheep being led to the slaughter house.

Well, the Mayor in Jackson, Mississippi probably could have issued any executive order he wanted to and while people may have grumbled, they would have mostly complied… Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba made one huge mistake though that any brain dead moron should have known would be met with resistance in the south… He tried to trample on the 2nd Amendment... The Mayor told the good citizens of Jackson, Mississippi, a state where open carry is legal, that because of the pandemic they could no longer open carry a gun… That’s right, they were in essence told they could not defend themselves

Now, there were a number of states that tried to pull similar stunts restricting Americans 2nd Amendment rights, but in states like California they are used to communist moves like that, but try that in Mississippi and you’re going to be facing a lawsuit the next day… And that’s exactly what happened.

Congressman Dana Criswell, a Republican representative for the Mississippi 6th Congressional District with the help of the Mississippi Justice Institute, a non-profit constitutional litigation center, filed a lawsuit against the city of Jackson, Mississippi and Mayor Lumumba.

By the end of April a federal judge had issued a Consent Decree that prohibits the city of Jackson, Mississippi from taking any action that would directly or indirectly prohibit, restrict, or inhibit the open carry of firearms unless or until Mississippi’s statutes and constitutional law are first changed to allow for such a restriction.

The Director of the Mississippi Justice Institute, Aaron Rice made the following statement:

“We are very happy with the outcome of this case.No mayor or other elected official in Jackson will ever again be able to act on their own to take away the right to openly carry a firearm in the City of Jackson, for any reason. We hope city officials can find a way to effectively address violent crime in Jackson, but they must do so in a way that respects the right of individuals to protect themselves.”

Much thanks to Chief U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Mississippi for upholding the 2nd Amendment rights of the people of Mississippi… God bless you!
