GOP Lawmakers Call BS On Rolling Stone Report

On Sunday, Rolling Stone Magazine published a screed accusing Republican lawmakers of being part of the planning for the January 6 invasion of the Capitol Building.

According to the lawmakers named in the article, no such thing occurred.

“No one in my office, including me, participated in the planning of the rally or in any criminal activity on Jan. 6. We did not attend or participate at all,” Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert said in a statement on Monday. “However, I am extremely interested to find out who, besides the FBI operatives, did plan the events on Jan. 6. For the purpose of a potential defamation lawsuit against those making baseless accusations of a crime, I need to know who these persons are who are alleging that I helped.”…

Specifically, the story names Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Gohmert.

“If you’re talking about someone participating in meetings, setting the agenda, raising the money, I don’t know of anything that suggests my staff as doing that stuff,” Brooks told the Montgomery Advertiser in an interview pushing back on the report on Monday.

Brooks also rejected a portion of the Rolling Stone report that said he and Cawthorn spoke with then-President Donald Trump at the rally at the Ellipse outside the White House on Jan. 6.

“There was a meeting at the White House about voter fraud and election theft activity,” Brooks said. “But I have no recollection of any kind of organizational activity regarding the speeches on Jan. 6.”

Boebert also pushed back on the report.

“I had no role in the planning or execution of any event that took place at the Capitol or anywhere in Washington, DC on January 6th,” Boebert said in a statement on Monday. “With the help of my staff, I accepted an invitation to speak at one event but ultimately I did not speak at any events on January 6th. Once again, the media is acting as a messaging tool for the radical left.”

The lawmakers are plain about the issue in each of their statements, offering no weasel words or positioning in what they have to say. That does not stop Rolling Stone or any other outlet from attempting to lay the blame for the event at Republican lawmakers’ feet, and not reporting what really happened that day.

There is a good reason why AG Garland ran from Massie’s question faster than he could find words — and why he couldn’t even keep eye contact as he was dodging Massie’s gaze.

After months of research, Revolver’s investigative reporting team can now reveal that Ray Epps appears to be among the primary orchestrators of the very first breach of the Capitol’s police barricades at 12:50 pm on January 6. Epps appears to have led the “breach team” that committed the very first illegal acts on that fateful day. What’s more, Epps and his “breach team” did all their dirty work with 10 minutes still remaining in President Trump’s National Mall speech, and with the vast majority of Trump supporters still 30 minutes away from the Capitol.

Secondly, Revolver also determined, as illustrated with the two images below, that the FBI stealthily removed Ray Epps from its Capitol Violence Most Wanted List on July 1, just one day after Revolver exposed the inexplicable and puzzling FBI protection of known Epps associate and Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes. July 1 was also just one day after a separate New York Times report amplified a glaring, falsifiable lie about Epps’s role in the events of January 6.

Lastly, Ray Epps appears to have worked alongside several individuals — many of them suspiciously unindicted — to carry out a breach of the police barricades that induced a subsequent flood of unsuspecting MAGA protesters to unwittingly trespass on Capitol restricted grounds and place themselves in legal jeopardy.

From all available evidence, it now appears that the FBI was involved in planning January 6 more so than lawmakers, but we’re not supposed to notice that because it goes against the narrative.

Rolling Stone have repeatedly proven themselves an embarrassment to any form of journalism.

Seems like these “reporters” have a habit of seeing any meeting as a conspiracy and fleshing out the details with the absolute worst imagined scenario as if they were to be involved.
