There once was a time when people were expected to keep their personal lives separate from their professional lives… Heck, we even had a president who believed the interns under his desk in the oval office were exempt from criticism of his professional life, but those days are long gone…
Today everything is fair game and it matters not when the offense occurred… The cancel culture has gone as far back as the third-grade teacher of a Trump aide coming forward with stories of the aide sniffing glue and introducing high school yearbooks at Supreme Court Justices confirmation hearings… If you think your children might one day need to stand up to the cancel cultures scrutiny then you might consider homeschooling and making them wear a mask at all times so there is some means of plausible deniability.
Los Angeles Police Officer Toni McBride is learning this lesson the hard way… She is actually getting spanked with a double whammy… She is not only being scrutinized for her past off duty activities but for the sins of her father as well…
Officer McBride’s father was a Los Angeles Police Officer and Officer McBride grew up shooting competitively and she was quite good at it… That became quite obvious on April 23, 2020, when she found herself in a situation where the use of deadly force was necessary and she shot a 38-year-old Hispanic male who approached her with a box cutter in hand and ignored her commands.
Officer Toni McBride and her partner were dispatched to an accident scene after multiple calls were received reporting that a man had caused an accident hitting as many as five cars and was seen sitting in his vehicle cutting himself in what seemed like an effort to kill himself.
Officer McBride’s actions were textbook perfect from the second she stepped out of her patrol vehicle. She quickly assessed the situation and directed the citizens on the scene to seek cover and several of them directed her attention to the vehicle the man armed with a boxcutter was located. Officer McBride was conscious of her fields of fire, communicated calmly and clearly to the public, and her partner keeping him informed of what she was observing, and almost immediately after her initial assessment asked her partner is anyone on scene had less-lethal alternatives available.
She had not been out of her vehicle long when the knife-wielding man exited his vehicle, bloody with the knife in his right hand advancing toward her position… Officer McBride remained calm shouting loud and clear commands at the knife-wielding man to stop. The man continued advancing toward Officer McBride in a threatening posture until Officer McBride felt that deadly force was warranted and she fired two rounds.
The man folded his arms across his midsection and fell on to his right side. After falling to his right side he immediately rolled back up onto his knee and began to stand back up when Officer McBride fired two more rounds into the man. The man rolled as if making another attempt to get to his feet when Officer McBride put two more rounds into him that left him motionless on his face in the street.
The shooting was being investigated and 23-year-old Officer Toni McBride was returned to duty after the autopsy revealed the man, Daniel Hernandez, was jacked-up on methamphetamine and had stabbed himself multiple times before his confrontation with Officer McBride… This was before George Floyd was killed and the anti-police sentiment began sweeping the nation… Suddenly ALL police officers were labeled bad and as far as the public was concerned, sitting safely in front of their YouTube accounts, there is no longer any justification for a police officer to use deadly force…
Well, I am going to say different… This 23-year-old police officer executed this situation as text-book perfect as possible… She remained calm, gave loud and clear verbal commands, then fired in multiples of two assessing the situation each time until the threat was neutralized… It was a pretty damn impressive performance if you have watched many other officer-involved shootings in the past decade… Lately, it seems like the protocol has consistently been if you shoot once, dump the entire mag, reload, dump another, then pause after you load your third magazine unless someone else is still shooting, then dump another magazine…
So what got Officer McBride jammed up? Well, if you have wondered where a young lady learned such discipline with a firearm and how it is she put six out of six shots fired into her target in an era when spray and pray seems to be the standard practice in law enforcement, wonder no more… Officer McBride grew up a competitive shooter… No doubt coached and encouraged by her police officer father…
What’s that got to do with anything you ask? Well, it should have nothing to do with anything but when the attorney representing the Hernandez family saw Officer McBride having a good time shooting, he thought it must be what made the inexperienced officer resort to lethal force so quick… After all, people who enjoy competitive shooting want nothing more than to kill someone attacking them with a knife…
The attorney representing the Hernandez family commented, “That was very shocking to me, I’ve never seen a police officer enjoying shooting to that degree and joking about it.” Apparently the videos on social media of Officer McBride competing are evidence that she’s a killer…
But if that’s not enough evidence that she a cold-hearted killer, it turns out her father who was a Los Angeles police officer before ending up on the department’s labor union board of directors, was involved in six shootings during his 11 years as a patrol officer…
See how that works? Daughter of police officer + competitive shooter + father involved in six shootings + videos show her having fun competitively shooting = ruthless cold-hearted killer… Now, someone tell me liberalism is not a mental illness… LOL
The Hernandez family and probably a lot of others will think Officer McBride could have done a lot more to deescalate the situation and did not need to use deadly force… Some will probably even suggest she could have just shot the knife out of his hand or shot him in the knee… If you’re one of those people, I have a suggestion for you… Turn the TV off once in a while and visit reality. LOL
Hopefully, Officer McBride remains strong through this and manages to keep her spirits up until this hate the police BS is over… America needs well-disciplined police officers like her now more than ever…
