Liz Cheney Sinking Like A Rock In Her Home State

Actions have consequences. No one is learning that the hard way faster than Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, daughter of the former Vice President. Last January, she voted to impeach President Donald Trump. Following that outrage:

The Wyoming Republican Party voted to no longer recognize Cheney as a party member.

President Trump endorsed her primary challenger.

And now, in a straw poll in that state’s primary operations, Cheney lost to her challenger. By a lot.

Harriet Hageman, whom Trump endorsed in September to challenge Cheney in the Republican primary, won the straw poll conducted by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee with 59 votes, the Casper Star-Tribune reported on Saturday.

Cheney came in a distant second with six votes…

Hageman’s vote totals were announced first at Saturday’s meeting and were greeted by applause, the Star-Tribune reported.

“I think it’s a good sign. It’s not an endorsement, but these are the county activists,” Hageman told the newspaper.

Cheney is also a member of the Special Committee for January 6, a group of congress critters looking to firm up the steal of the 2020 election by somehow having President Trump legally charged with insurrection despite no evidence that he had anything to do with the invasion of the Capitol Building last year.

“The only elections that matter are in August and November,” Jeremy Adler, a spokesperson for the Cheney campaign, told the newspaper after the vote.

“This smells like an endorsement to me,” Natrona County Committeeman Joe McGinley said. “Whether that is the true intention of the state … or not, that’s what it appears to be.”

The problem for Liz Cheney – and other Republican in Name Only members of the House of Representatives – is that the people on the fruited plain are not happy with the way they have been voting with the Democrats to stifle the populist agenda that the American people voted for when we elected President Trump. That being the case, they will suffer the consequences.
