In the latest round of “let’s try to pin some corruption on Donald Trump so his kind never rises again,” the Manhattan District Attorney went to the ex-wife of a Trump employee, and former daughter-in-law of the Chief Financial Officer to get some satisfaction when it comes to finding a needle in the haystack that is the Trump business empire that just might… MIGHT produce some sort of evidence that there was hanky panky going on behind the scenes.
Jennifer Weisselberg is cooperating in the investigation and was complying with a grand jury subpoena that asked her to turn over all financial records connected to the Trump Organization and Wollman Rink, an ice rink in Central Park that [her ex-husband] Barry Weisselberg managed for the Trump Organization, per the Post.
“My knowledge of the documents and my voice connect the flow of money from various banks and from personal finances that bleed directly into the Trump Organization,” she told the Post in an interview.
She added that she had previously turned over her ex-husband’s tax returns, bank transaction documents, and statements of net worth.
She also turned in “copies of Wollman Rink checks from private events” that she claims were incorrectly deposited.
That’s all they’ve got? The word of an ex-wife of an employee, “improperly” deposited checks and the ex-husband’s personal financials?
And this is news?
What it really is, is illustrative of just how desperate the machine in the United States that maintains its own power is to keep President Donald Trump out of office permanently. They are looking into projects that are decades old, and which have had no previous complaints. Before he and his lovely wife Melania came down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015, no one ever attached any sort of damaging scandal to President Trump. He was such a celebrity billionaire that it would have been big news.
And now the machine is trying to find what amounts to a hangnail on which to pin his backside to the proverbial wall.
There must be something really nasty out there to hide if the machine is taking this to the wall.
