Mar-A-Lago Neighbors Petition Authorities Against A Trump Permanent Residence

The final results of the 2020 election have not been decided and already the people who live in the neighborhood where Mar-A-Lago is are petitioning for the Trump family to be barred from living there permanently when they leave the White House.

According to the Washington Post, which is not known for properly sourcing its gossip and innuendo “reporting”, the notion has been put forth that come January, the Trumps will be moving into their resort in Palm Beach. No official announcement has been made, but the people who reside close to Mar-A-Lago – now listed as the Trumps’ permanent residence – are essentially jumping on the erroneous conclusion that the election has been decided and the Biden-Harris ticket is the victor.

And they don’t want the loser living in their vicinity even if his ownership of the resort that was long a white elephant of sorts raised everyone’s property values.

To that end – not having the Trumps in the neighborhood permanently – the petitioners of Palm Beach are depending on a 1993 agreement which was made when President Trump bought the property to sway the powers in the local governments.

The Post said it obtained a copy of the letter, in which it says the neighbors mentioned an agreement that Trump signed in 1993 when he sought to turn what had been a residence into a private club.

Under the terms of the agreement, no guest is permitted to stay at the club for more than “three non-consecutive seven day periods” during one year.

The letter, written by an attorney representing the DeMoss family, who are Mar-a-Lago’s neighbors, says Palm Beach officials should notify Trump he is not allowed to live at Mar-a-Lago to avoid an “embarrassing situation” in which a former president would face eviction.

Seeing as how President Trump is the OWNER of the resort – not a guest – how the DeMoss family and anyone who has joined their effort has any standing to make this demand is lost.

The neighbors don’t like President Trump. A lot of Americans don’t like their neighbors. It’s part of life. The DeMoss family might consider growing up a little.
