Senator Mitch McConnell is one of the poster children for term limits in Congress. He’s been there so long, sometimes it is not clear for which team he is playing.
When it comes to mega spending bills, rather than hold the line on spending the way conservative Republican voters expect Congress critters to do, McConnell is usually right there to compromise and spend more American taxpayer money than is really available.
The latest deal to raise the debt ceiling is no different.
The Senate voted 50-49 to raise the debt limit by $2.5 trillion.
This happened after 14 Republicans joined Democrats to suspend the filibuster, allowing Democrats to vote in favor of raising the debt ceiling.
The deal was crafted by McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer…
After the measure passed, Schumer couldn’t contain his happiness.
“As I have said repeatedly, this is about paying debt accumulated by both parties, so I am pleased Republicans and Democrats came together to facilitate a process that has made addressing the debt ceiling possible,” Schumer said.
Schumer also thanked McConnell for having “reached out across the aisle in good faith to bring us to this point.”
What does this have to do with Marjorie Taylor Greene?
Soon after the House voted for approval, Greene took to Twitter and went off on McConnell.
The House of Representatives is voting after midnight tonight because @LeaderMcConnell allowed Democrats to bi-pass the filibuster and ram through the debt ceiling increase to $31.5 TRILLION.

Greene is not the only person who is not happy about this turn of events. President Donald Trump had this to say:
“Mitch McConnell is giving the Democrats victory on everything,” Trump said in a statement issued by his spokesperson Liz Harrington on Twitter.
The statement added: What is wrong with this Broken Old Crow? He’s hurting the Republican Senators and the Republican Party. When will they vote him out of Leadership?
“He didn’t have the guts to play the Debt Ceiling card, which would have given the Republicans a complete victory on virtually everything. The Dems were ready to fold!”
“It’s like taking money and throwing it out the window, and Mitch McConnell could have killed it,” Trump told Mark Davis, a Texas radio host, last week.
What will happen when McConnell is up for re-election or after the midterm election when the Senate could well regain the majority?
