It looks like President Donald Trump hit a nerve of sorts when he commuted the prison sentence of Roger Stone, a long time associate of his. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, she who became a multi-millionaire along with her husband while she has been in office, she who told Congress that they would have to pass the Affordable Care Act in order to find out what was in it, and she who has wasted all kinds of taxpayer money on show hearings and a failed impeachment effort based on zero evidence, now says that this action by the president is “corrupt.”
From the statement released by Pelosi’s office:
“President Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of top campaign advisor Roger Stone, who could directly implicate him in criminal misconduct, is an act of staggering corruption.”
Pot, meet kettle. Does this woman seriously think that Americans have such short memories we don’t remember how she shoved ObamaCare down our throats?
Apparently, because now she wants to change constitutional law – without an amendment – to keep President Trump from using his duly appointed privileges.
“Congress will take action to prevent this type of brazen wrongdoing. Legislation is needed to ensure that no President can pardon or commute the sentence of an individual who is engaged in a cover-up campaign to shield that President from criminal prosecution.”
Amazing that Mrs. Pelosi didn’t say a word when both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama did this very thing.
Also amazing that after years of throwing fistfuls of swamp mud at President Donald Trump, desperately trying to get something, anything to stick the Democrats are still doing it, and doing it in ways that really do not look good for them at all.
Pelosi’s statement ends:
“This decision and Trump’s many other acts of corruption point to the urgency of electing a President in November who will respect the Constitution, the rule of law and the will of the American people.”
Psst, Nancy…he’s already occupying the Oval Office.
