Amazing how things come full circle.
Zakir, also known as Abdullah Gulam Rasoul, was captured by US forces after 9/11 and incarcerated at the detention center in Cuba.
He was transferred back to Afghanistan in 2007 and soon released.
Following his release, Zakir became the Taliban’s operations commander in southern Afghanistan. He was blamed for masterminding a surge in roadside attacks against American troops and organizing assaults on US aircraft in Afghanistan.
Well, isn’t that special. Not only does the resident squatter of the White House hand over a mineral-rich nation to terrorists who are liable to sell rare earth minerals and lithium-rich areas to the highest bidder for strip mining, but they’re also using our former detainees to do it.
And then there are the “evacuees.”
Meanwhile, thousands of relieved Afghans are continuing to arrive in the United States as the US accelerates efforts to evacuate those stranded in Kabul after the Taliban demanded all foreign troops be out of the country by Aug. 31.
Reports are that it is not thousands of Afghans, but HUNDREDS of thousands taken to Virginia first and then distributed to other states. While there are some women and children in the groups, the majority are young men of fighting age.
