That seems to be our lot these days even if it really isn’t the American way. Americans are not fond of just shooting people for the sake of shooting people. In fact, there is a large part of the nation that sees such behavior as a result of certain training, and that the sheer number of these shootings indicates that they are a part of an effort to get Americans to give up their guns.
After all, this is one of the few countries on earth where the citizenry is allowed to keep and bear arms.
It’s what protects us from tyranny.
Every time there’s a shooting, we play this ridiculous theater, where this committee gets together and proposes a bunch of laws that would do nothing to stop these murders! … We will learn in the coming days and weeks the exact motivation of the murderers in Atlanta and Boulder, Colorado. … But we already know this pattern is predictable, over and over and over again, there are steps we can take to stop these crimes. And you know what the steps aren’t? The steps aren’t disarming law-abiding citizens….
The Democrats who want to take away the guns from those potential victims would create more victims of crimes, not less. I agree it’s a time for actions, and by the way, I don’t apologize for thoughts or prayers. I will lift up in prayer people who are hurting and I believe in the power of prayer, and the contempt of Democrats for prayers is an odd sociological thing.
And that is what needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Taking away Americans’ firearms will make the people sitting ducks not just for criminals, but a tyrannical government that seems to be accumulating more power as the days go on.
