No good deed goes unpunished, even for a Democrat defending women’s rights.
Ever since the transgender craze hit the mainstream, the one group of people who have been marginalized is women athletes. Due to the nature of the campaign for the rest of us to accept men who think they should be women as normal, one of the goals of the whole matter is for these biological men to compete in women’s sports.
Honestly, just because a man thinks he’s a woman, and he transitions away from his manliness, he’s still – in general – bigger and stronger than women, even women athletes. And has been pointed out by elite women athletes, parents of girls who compete and more, that allowing these…humans…to compete on an even playing field with the true biological ladies is truthfully very unfair.
On Democrat politician, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has introduced a bill in Congress on Title IX grounds, that will not allow men who think they are women and actual women to be allowed to compete against one another in college sports.
The “Protect Women’s Sports Act,” co-sponsored by Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, blocks schools from receiving federal funding if they permit transgender males and females to play sports on teams with students of the opposite biological sex.
The decision to bring the transgender issue in front of Congress, Gabbard said, was directly related to “Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex.”
“Title IX was a historic provision … to provide equal opportunity for women and girls in high school and college sports. It led to a generational shift that impacted countless women, creating life-changing opportunities for girls and women that never existed before,” Gabbard said.
Gabbard said some states are misinterpreting Title IX and creating undue hardship and lost opportunities for female athletes.
“It is critical that the legacy of Title IX continues to ensure women and girls in sports have the opportunity to compete and excel on a level playing field,” she said.
As efforts to help women go, Title IX in and of itself can be considered questionable from various perspectives, but it was never intended as an excuse for men who think they are women to compete in sports as women.
That doesn’t mean Gabbard’s efforts are lauded by all and sundry.
Delaware’s Sarah McBride, who recently made history as the first transgender woman to win an election as a state senator, mocked Gabbard for being connected with the bill.
“Tulsi Gabbard: assigned Republican at birth,” McBride wrote on Twitter.
LBGTQ rights advocate Charlotte Clymer called the legislation “blatantly transphobic” and accused Gabbard supporters of using trans people as “bargaining chips.”
“Usually, when I’ve criticized Tulsi Gabbard in the past for her heinous record and positions, I’ve had her fans bombard me with nonsense,” Clymer said. “It’ll be interesting to see how quiet they remain over this.”
Women who are insulted by men who think they are women will be cheering on Rep. Gabbard.
This one should be a no-brainer, but probably won’t be as virtue signaling will undoubtedly have an impact on the bill’s vote totals.
