For whatever reason, the powers that be at Twitter are bound and determined to keep all of President Donald Trump’s posting history off of the site. Not only was Trump’s account banned, but now the people who are the face of the social media platform are not allowing the archived tweets to appear at all.
Given that we permanently suspended @realDonaldTrump, the content from the account will not appear on Twitter as it did previously or as archived administration accounts do currently, regardless of how NARA decides to display the data it has preserved
Administration accounts that are archived on the service are accounts that were not in violation of the Twitter Rules.
The people at Twitter are working with the National Archives and Records Administration to be sure the full history of the @realDonaldTrump account is preserved. They just won’t appear on that platform.
The excuse used to kick the president off of Twitter, in the end, was that he violated community standards by inciting the invasion of the Capitol Building on January 6. No evidence has ever been produced that demonstrates Trump asking anyone to illegally enter the Capitol and then damage offices and hang out on the floor of both chambers of Congress, but that never stops the narrative keepers. They will do as they please to keep control of messaging to and from the American people.
In the meantime, the social media platform GAB actually does have all of the Trump tweets on a mirror account. President Trump himself did not and does not maintain this account – people at GAB do – but all of the messaging can be found there if one cares to look for it.
We’ll see how this one turns out.
