Iam sure most of you by now have heard about the couple in St. Louis Missouri who grabbed their guns to defend their property when a mob of crazed rioters tore the iron gate to their property off the hinges and approached their estate.
The liberal media have been going berserk over them brandishing their firearms to defend their property as they were approached by crazed loons representing Black Lives Matter following the death of George Floyd.
The George Soro’s funded liberal loon prosecutor in St. Louis found it so reprehensible that she filed criminal charges against the couple after serving a search warrant on them and confiscating their weapons for the crime of defending their lives and property.
Apparently there has been a little secret the liberal media have been hiding for months though because it turns out one of their own found themselves in a similar situation and opened their frond door with representatives of Black Lives Matter on their doorstep and pointed a handgun directly at them and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t leave.
There are a couple of very significant differences in the two scenarios though that make quite a difference between the actions of one being justified and the other not being justified.
The liberal loon who has gotten themselves in a jam is actually the husband of Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey. Her husband, David Lacy, opened his door at about 0500 one morning back in March-that was two months prior to the George Floyd incident-and pointed his handgun at several representatives of the Black Lives Matter movement standing on his front doorstep and threatened to shoot them if they did not leave.
One of the primary reasons one of these acts was wrong and the other was not is something called a Castle Law… In Missouri, they have a pretty solid Castle Law that says a citizen has the right to defend their property and have no duty to retreat… In Comiefornia however, a liberal anti-gun state they have something called a “duty to retreat.” In other words, if someone comes through your front door and you are standing by your back door you have to make every reasonable effort to exit through that back door and retreat to someplace safe… You don’t get to defend your castle.
The other difference between these two incidents is in Missouri the mob was anything but peaceful… They had to tear a cast-iron gate off the hinges to gain access to the property, had been burning the city down and looting places for days, and were verbally threatening the couple as they approached them… They had every right to fear for their safety and defend themselves.
In Los Angeles, there were only a few Black Lives Matter representatives, they had not destroyed any gates or penetrated any barrier to get to the front door, and they never said anything threatening to the District Attorney’s husband.
“My client and I are disappointed that the Attorney General’s Office felt that the conduct at issue amounted to criminal behavior. We disagree entirely with their assessment, but we have the utmost faith in the justice system, and we are confident that the correct result will be reached.”
“At this time we are not going to comment on the facts of the case, except to say that my client’s human instinct is forever and always to protect his wife and his family and to keep them safe from physical harm. We look forward to all relevant facts coming to light.”
In an effort to do some damage control back in early March, the Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey said during a press conference that she has tried to meet with Black Lives Matter activists previously but they were unable to resolve anything. She further elaborated:
“It seems like what they like is to embarrass me and intimidate me. My hope is that one day that might change. That maybe, just maybe, if I keep reaching out, that someone will want to sit down and have a conversation that’s productive.”
Back in March Jackie Lacey said in a statement that the incident has been a source of pain for the family.
“My husband acted in fear for my safety after we were subjected to months of harassment that included a death threat no less than a week earlier. Protesters arrived at my house shortly after 5 am while I was upstairs. My husband felt that we were in danger and acted out of genuine concern for our well being.”
Amazing how liberals always seem to find a way to justify behavior they condemn the rest of us for… Imagine that, they were afraid so defended themselves with a firearm… WOW… How dare they threaten peaceful protesters like that… Heathens… Every one of them! LOL
